First things first—I’m a reader.

Before I ever published a book, before I ever called myself an author, I was the girl with a book in her hand and a story living in her head. Reading has always been my favorite escape, my favorite comfort, and one of the ways I make sense of the world around me.

Eventually, I stopped just reading stories and started writing them.

Today, I write contemporary romance, women's fiction, urban fiction, and poetry centered around Black love, family, healing, friendship, loyalty, and the moments that change us forever. My stories are filled with imperfect people trying to figure life out, complicated relationships, strong women, protective men, chosen family, and characters who find themselves in the middle of extraordinary circumstances.

If you've read my work, you've probably noticed that family is often at the center of everything I write. Whether it's the loyalty and legacy of the Liles × King family, a couple finding their way back to each other, or a woman learning how to heal from the things that hurt her, I'm always interested in the relationships that shape us.

Because at the end of the day, that's what life is really about.

The people we love.
The people we lose.
The people we become because of them.

When I'm writing, I'm usually chasing a feeling more than a plot. I want readers to laugh, cry, swoon, reflect, and occasionally stay up way later than they intended because they just need one more chapter. I write the kinds of stories I love to read—stories with heart, emotion, tension, chemistry, and characters who feel real enough to sit across from you at dinner.

When I'm not writing, you'll probably find me reading, brainstorming my next book, working behind the scenes on one of my creative projects, spending time with my family, or adding another notebook to a collection that is already entirely too large.
