With a strict mother determined to keep him away from the streets, Ameko focused on school and community college while trying to imagine life beyond Ashbourn.
Then he meets Tey.
What starts as curiosity slowly turns into something deeper as Ameko begins seeing the girl beneath the survival.
TYRESE “TJ” SMITH (24)
TJ became the head of the Smith family before he was even old enough to fully become a man himself.
After their mother went away, he stepped into the streets to keep his siblings together and fed. Quiet, respected, and strategic, TJ runs his part of Da Wood without needing attention or noise.
Everything he does is for family — even if the streets are slowly costing him one.
TRAVIS SMITH (16)
Travis is at the age where Da Wood is starting to look less dangerous and more tempting.
Hardheaded, restless, and tired of being treated like a kid, he clashes with TJ and Tey often. Watching his older siblings survive through the streets makes him question why he’s expected to choose differently.
TATIANA SMITH (15)
Tatiana is smart, observant, and already growing curious about the world around her.
Caught between wanting more and being influenced by what she sees in Da Wood, Tatiana doesn’t always understand why Tey tries so hard to keep her away from certain things.
Especially when the streets seem to be the reason the family survives at all.

Funny, loud, and full of energy, Trenton still sees the world through innocent eyes.
To them he just a bad ass jit, but to him, Tey and TJ are superheroes

Treyvon is attached to Tey constantly and barely remembers life before TJ and Tey stepped into parental roles.

DARRELL “RELL” BOONE (23)
Leader of a rival crew from Briar Ridge.
Loud where TJ is quiet and reckless where TJ is calculated, Rell is hungry to prove himself in Ashbourn — and willing to create chaos to do it.
As tensions rise between neighborhoods, everybody in Da Wood starts feeling the pressure.
